"NARROW"

It's becoming more clear each day which streets I want to walk into, and which streets I want to avoid. I used to be scared to narrow my focus and pick a street to go into because I was afraid that it might feel too limiting. Thoughts like these held me back for example: "What would happen if I'll pick the wrong street? Then I'd have to walk all the way back."

But now that I'm picking my directions and just keep walking, it starts to feel more liberating instead of suffocating. I'm also starting to learn that it's important to just start walking in a direction. You don't have to walk all the way back if you're in the wrong street. Instead, you can always just make a left or right turn if you'd like. But at least you're going somewhere. Being in motion is better than to just stand still.

When you go all-in on something that you believe in, it can be hard in the beginning. Because not everyone else around you sees the same vision that you are holding in your mind. You have a dream for the future, a path ahead, a focus. They only see your current situation, the outside, so they might discourage you unconsciously by making a comment for example.

These comments can sometimes be very obvious. For instance, in the past, I've had completely random strangers come to me after a show and tell me they didn't like it. When that happens it doesn't really affect me that much, because they are strangers and they don't really know where I'm at in my learning process. So you can brush those critics off quite easily.

Other comments can be sometimes harder to spot, while they are often more striking and effective at sabotaging you. It's when people that are close to you make a comment like: "why are you doing that all of the sudden?" These people have known you for a certain time, so they are confronted with the new you, your new vision that they are not seeing yet, so they'll get uncomfortable and unconsciously sabotage you through making such comments.

The more you've narrowed down your path, the easier it is to brush off critics, whether they are strangers or people that are close to us. Just keep walking towards your vision without being distracted.
